Russia and Turkey confirmed their intention to maintain active dialogue on the Middle East, the Russian Foreign Ministry said following the consultations between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mikhail Bogdanov, and his Turkish counterpart Umit Yalcin, in Istanbul.
During the meeting the sides paid special attention to the military-political situation in Syria and around it. Deputy Foreign Ministers stressed the need to further intensify efforts in looking for a political settlement of the Syrian crisis on the basis of the Geneva Communique from 30 June 2012, TASS reports.
