The national team of Russia in water polo started with a victory in the first European Games in Baku. They defeated the Ukrainian team with a score of 20:7.
The Russian team will play its next game on Sunday with the Italian team, Tass reports.
In the group stage of the competition 16 teams were divided into four groups of four members. The best teams will qualify directly to the quarterfinals.
