There is a growing number of Arab tourists visiting Russia. The flow of tourists from the Gulf countries has increased significantly over the past few months, the Russian Union of Travel Industry (RUTI) shared.
"The restoration of inbound tourism is underway... If previously European tourists accounted for the majority of visitors, now the Arab tourist flow is in first place, and it is really large. Tourists are coming from the Gulf countries. Travelling to Russia is fashionable now",
RUTI said.
Arabs travel to Russia both as part of organized groups, attending excursions, and as independent tourists. Middle Eastern tourists are wealthy and choose hotels of the appropriate level, the Chairman of the RUTI Commission for International Cooperation, Sergey Voitovich said.
"Basically, these are very wealthy guests. Accommodation below the 4* level is not booked",
Voitovich said.
Russia is of great interest to tourists from Oman, Qatar, and the UAE.
The incoming tourist flow is also growing thanks to travelers from Türkiye, India, and Indonesia. At the beginning of 2024, the foreign tourist flow to Russia was three times higher than in the first three months of 2023. At the same time, the pre-pandemic level of inbound tourism is still unattainable.
