Russia cannot allow Syria to fail

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow suggests Washington to harmonize the efforts to combat terrorism.

"We explained our position, we don’t have any attachments to anyone in the region. But we do have a very strong feeling that we cannot allow the state of Syria to fail," TASS cited him as saying.

In addition, Lavrov said that Russia has suggested that the US should harmonize its efforts to be sure that the air strikes on the terrorists' positions are coordinated with the steps on the ground. "I hope that Barack Obama has heard the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin," Lavrov stressed.
