Russia closes its borders to Ukrainian trucks

Russia has closed passage through its territory to all trucks registered in Ukraine. The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation explained that the move was a reprisal for the actions of the Ukrainian side, as ‘from February 11th, 2016 a group of persons are unlawfully blocking Russian goods vehicles making transits between the territory of the Russian Federation and the States of the European Union on the territory of Ukraine."

The Ministry stated that these actions are a flagrant violation of the intergovernmental agreement, ‘under which the parties offer the possibility of transit through their territories’, RBC reports.
