Russia held ceremonies commemorating the sailors who died when the Russian nuclear submarine Kursk sank in the Barents Sea 15 years ago, the chief of department of information support of the press service of the Eastern Military District, Roman Martov said.
In Kursk, where 12 of the 118 sailors are buried, flowers were laid before their graves by relatives from the Kursk region and Moscow, representatives of regional and municipal authorities, public figures, military men, veterans of the Navy, students, cadets. Archbishop German of Kursk and Rylsk prayed for the sailors.
