Russia imposes sanctions against Turkey

Russia has imposed restrictive economic measures against Turkey, a decree ‘On measures to ensure the national security of the Russian Federation and the protection of Russian citizens from criminal and other illegal activities and the use of special economic measures against the Republic of Turkey’ was signed today by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to the document, Russia is temporarily banned or limited of the foreign trade operations associated with the importation into the territory of the Federation of the Turkish goods, the list of which will be made by the Russian government. The exception is allowed to import goods for personal use to the extent that allows the right of the EAEC.

At the same time the services and the organization of a Turkish jurisdiction in the territory of Russia are prohibited or restricted, a specific list of such works and services will be also determined by the government. The employers, in turn will not be able to hire citizens of Turkey from January 1st, 2016.

The Government mandated a ban for the charter flights between Russia and Turkey. Visa-free regime between the two countries will be abolished from January 1st, 2016.
