Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in an interview with the RT network, has proposed coordinating air strikes with ground forces' operations against the militants of Islamic State.
"We have established what we call an 'Information Center' in Baghdad, which will be used to exchange information available to these countries – to the Syrians, Iraqis, Iranians and Russians. Which might, and I think must, help to be more efficient in fighting the terrorists. We suggested the United States and the coalition calibrate their efforts and make sure that whatever air strikes they contemplate against terrorist targets will be coordinated with the efforts of the ground forces," the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.
