Russia reports less than 30,000 COVID-19 cases

Russia’s COVID-19 case tally rose by 28,709 over the past day to 17,611,401, the anti-coronavirus crisis center reported on Monday.

Russia reports fewer 30,000 daily COVID-19 cases for the first time since January 16. In relative terms, the growth rate reached 0.16%.

As many as 2,187 people were hospitalized with COVID-19 in Russia over the past day, down 14.3% from a day earlier. The number of hospitalized patients decreased in 48 regions, while in 31 other regions the figure increased. The situation remained unchanged in six regions. A day earlier, 2,551 people were rushed to hospitals.

Moscow’s COVID-19 cases surged by 771 over the past day versus 928 a day earlier, reaching 2,730,020, according to the anti-coronavirus crisis center. St. Petersburg’s COVID-19 cases increased by 1,352 over the past day versus 1,398 a day earlier, reaching 1,488,785.

Russia’s COVID-19 death toll surged by 409 over the past day to 364,901, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Monday. A day earlier 434 COVID-19 deaths were registered.

The average mortality rate remained at 2.07%, according to the crisis center.

Russia’s COVID-19 recoveries rose by 61,938 over the past day, reaching 16,271,880, the anti-coronavirus crisis center told reporters on Monday.

The share of patients discharged from hospitals has risen to 92.4% of the total number of those infected. A day earlier some 74,675 patients recovered.
