President of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to reintroduce the physical training program 'Ready for Labor and Defense' (GTO) in Russia.
The Russian Ministry of Sports will approve requirements for the level of physical training of the population in the performance of GTO standards. It is expected that they will be divided into three levels of difficulty, corresponding to gold, silver and bronze badges.
Every year the Russian government is obliged to present the head of state with a report on the level of physical training of the population.
1.2 billion rubles will be spent on the implementation of the federal law. According to the director of the legal department of the Ministry of Sports of Russia, Vadim Bayramov, 283 million rubles will be allocated for these purposes in the next year.
