Russia's international reserves for April 8 announced

Russia's international reserves from April 1 to April 8 amounted to $609.4 billion, the Russian Central Bank press service reports.

"International reserves as of April 8 amounted to $609.4 billion, having increased over the week by $2.9 billion, or 0.5%", it was reported.

The international (gold and foreign exchange) reserves of Russia are highly liquid foreign assets that are at the disposal of the Central Bank and the Russian government. The reserves consist of monetary gold, special drawing rights, the IMF reserve position and foreign currency funds.

In 2021, international reserves increased by 5.9% and as of January 1 of this year amounted to $630.6 billion. They reached a historical maximum of $643.2 billion on February 18, 2022.
