Russia to host First International Army games

The First international military games, which is attended by 57 military teams from 17 countries, has started today in Albino (The Moscow region). 480 sets of medals will be played at 14 military-sport disciplines within two weeks.  According to the head of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, the competition is not limited to the suburbs, the service men will have to show their skills and professionalism at 11 test sites ‘from the Kuban to Siberia,’ .

Besides the already well-known in the world tank biathlon and aviadarts the Russian defense ministry has developed several types of competitions, in particular, ‘Suvorov onslaught’ for motorized infantry and ‘outdoor kitchen’ for the army cooks, specifically for international military games.

According to Tass, the Defense Ministry restored 225 km of roads, built and equipped more than 90 objects, conducted 160 repairs specially for the Games. A unique target is prepared for the aviadarts- the participants of the competition will have to destroy the starting position of anti-aircraft missile systems. The volunteers from local youth organizations are working on the Games, the regional authorities support the First  International Military Games.

Comfortable conditions have been created for audience at all 11 landfills, which anyone can visit during the Games. ‘’A video surveillance system is deployed, it will remain after the Games to serve planned military trainings. There is a covered grandstand, also  the issue of logistics and transportation of the people to the competitions is solved,’’  the head of the headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Ivan Buvaltsev, said
