Russia wins team competitions at European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships in Baku
The qualifications among senior gymnasts at the European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships ended in Baku. According to the results of the qualification, the Russian team won the gold medal in the team event.
The Romanian team won the silver medal. The bronze medals were won by the representatives of Hungary.
The national team of Azerbaijan ranked the 5th in the team competition.
Awards to the winners and prize-winners were presented by the President of the European Gymnastics Union (UEG) Farid Gaibov, member of the Technical Committee on Aerobic Gymnastics Andrea Sinko and head coach of the Azerbaijani national team on Aerobic Gymnastics Mariyan Kolev.
Yesterday, the Russian junior athletes also won in the team event.
The European Aerobic Gymnastics Championships is being held in Baku for the first time. During three-day championships, senior and junior gymnasts will compete in the programs of 'Individual Women', 'Individual Men', 'Mixed Pairs', 'Trios', 'Groups', as well as 'Aerobic Dance', 'Aerobic Step' (only seniors). In the team competition, the winners will be defined for the five best performances. The championships will bring together gymnasts from 22 countries. In total, the gymnasts will compete for 15 medal sets.
