Russian Ambassador to the UK Alexander Yakovenko said that London has stopped almost all political contacts with Moscow.
"Practically all political contacts were abruptly broken off at Britain’s initiative, political dialogue has disappeared at the top level, between the leaders," he said.
The Ambassador noted that culture is the only sphere of cooperation that is developing. "The stagnation in bilateral ties has also been felt at ministerial level. This began with the Syrian conflict, but we felt it especially after the Ukrainian crisis," the ambassador said.
Yakovenko said that, in spite of the situation, he is in regular contact with British lawmakers, expressing hope of meeting the new Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, RIA Novosti reports.
