There are no tensions or conflicts between Moscow and Tehran on the Syrian issue, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said.
Ryabkov noted that like any serious international player, Iran has "clear-cut interests of its own, including on Syria". Russia also has a rather comprehensive, strait and clear agenda," the diplomat stressed.
"If any questions arise regarding Russia’s and Iran’s positions on the Syrian issues, we address them on a routine basis through consultations, through a dialogue. I stress, [these are] questions, and not tensions or even conflicts," TASS cited him as saying.
Ryabkov noted that work on the Astana process shows a high level of mutual understanding between Russia and Iran.
The deputy minister is confident that when Russian President Vladimir Putin will be in Tehran today, "the Syrian issue will be one of the major ones in the international bloc".
