Russian chess players won bronze at World Olympiad in Baku

Russian men's team won bronze medals at the 42nd World Chess Olympiad in the capital of Azerbaijan. Team USA won the gold (the first in 40 years) and the second place went to Ukraine, the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza reports.

In the last round the Russian grandmasters played against Italy. Vladimir Kramnik defeated Daniele Vocaturo, Eugeny Tomashevsky and Axel Rombaldoni played to a draw, as well as Yan Nepomnyashchy and Sabino Brunello, Alexander Grischuk defeated Luke Moroney Jr.

The Chinese national women's team won gold, the Polish chess players became silver medalists and Ukrainians won bronze. Russia's team was fourth.

The Olympiad began on September 1 and was held in the sports-concert complex Crystal Hall.
