Russian senator Suleiman Kerimov will not be placed into custody under investigation into money laundering in France and will stay free on his own recognizance, the Aix-en-Provence court of appeals ruled today, a council for the prosecution said following a closed court hearing.
"Mr Kerimov will stay free under court control, and the investigation procedure will continue on a routine basis," TASS cited her as saying.
At the same time, the bail sum for him will be increased from 5 mln euros to 40 mln euros, the Aix-en-Provence court of appeals ruled on Wednesday, a council for the prosecution said.
