Russian servicemen have carried out a humanitarian mission to Syria's Aleppo and delivered about 250 packages of warm clothes and more than 1 tonne of bread to the residents of the al-Khalasi district, representative for the Russian Reconciliation Center for the Opposing Sides in Syria Pavel Matreninsky said.
"Today, we are carrying out a charitable mission in one of the poorest districts of Aleppo, [during] which more than 1 tonne of bread will be given, along with about 250 packages with clothes: warm jackets, sweaters, jumpers and comfort items needed by the local population which was most affected during combat operations in this particular area," TASS cited him as saying.
The Center’s representative recalled that the al-Khalasi district was one of the first districts in Aleppo that militants seized in 2012. There used to be numerous workshops there before the war, but during the occupation the equipment was robbed or destroyed.
