65% of Russians believe their country is a great power

According to a survey conducted by the Levada Center, nearly two-thirds of Russians (65% ​​of respondents) believe that their country is a great power.

25% expressed disagreement. 10% found it difficult to answer the question.

According to the Russians polled, the main attributes of a great power are high welfare of citizens (64%), the economic and industrial potential of the country (58%), military power and the presence of nuclear missiles (51%), a great culture, science and arts (25%), respect for others and the authority of the world (20%).

36% of Russians said that they would like to see Russia in the future "as a developed Western country," 23% would like to revive the Soviet times and 3% would like to revive the pre-revolutionary period. 14% are satisfied with modern Russia. 14% of respondents found it difficult to answer the question.

In general, Russians want to see their country strong and prosperous (57%), rich (52%), cultured (40%), invincible (35%), peaceful (31%) and fair (30%).

The poll was conducted on November 20-23 in 46 constituent parts of Russia, around 1600 people took part, Interfax reports.
