Russia’s Airborne Force wraps up large-scale drills in Crimea

Russia’s Airborne Force has wrapped up its large-scale drills at the Opuk training range in Crimea, TASS cited the Defense Ministry’s press office report.

"During the drills, the paratroopers acting as part of a rapid reaction force in interaction with the Black Sea Fleet and the Russian Aerospace Force practiced some tactical missions: landing airborne, tactical and amphibious assault groups, conducting counter-landing defense amid an enemy’s jamming and the stages of combat firing, using bombers, attack and army aviation, amphibious assault ships, artillery guns and small arms," the press office said in a statement.

"The basic goals of the command and staff exercise have been fulfilled," Airborne Force Commander Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov who directed the drills was quoted as saying in the statement.
