Russia’s phytosanitary watchdog denies difficulties in grain export to Turkey

Export of grain to Turkey runs in standard mode, the official representative of Russia’s phytosanitary watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor, Yulia Melano, said.

"Grain exports run in standard mode, there are no recalls of certificates," TASS cited her as saying.

Nevertheless, the service will send a request to the trade mission in Turkey to confirm or deny information about Turkey introducing quotas for grain imports from Russia.

Earlier on Wednesday, Vedomosti citing sources said that Turkey imposed new restrictions on Russian grain exporters. According to the newspaper, currently Russia might account for only 20-25% of the licenses for duty-free import of grain into the country. But the Russian Grain Union noted that exporters did not report problems in obtaining licenses.
