Rza Aliyev: we hope to reach finals of Baku Artistic Gymnastics World Cup

Azerbaijani gymnasts are betting on tomorrow's qualifying competitions at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku, the head coach of the Azerbaijani national gymnastics team Rza Aliyev said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza.

"We will participate at competitions in all three apparatus tomorrow, we will try to reach the finals. The most hopes are pinned on Dariy Morozov's performance in pommel horse exercises, as he has a very serious program," he stressed.

According to Rza Aliyev, the strongest athletes arrived this year from Japan and China. "In addition, an Olympic champion represents Greece. There is a strong competition in the horizontal bar. In general, the competitors are becoming increasingly stronger every year," the head coach of the Azerbaijani national men's gymnastics team noted.

The FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup is been held at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Azerbaijan on March 15-18. A total of 102 gymnasts from 25 countries are taking part in the competitions.

The qualifying competitions will be held today and tomorrow. The finals in the men's floor exercise, men's parallel bars, men's ring, as well as finals in women's vault and women's horizontal bar will be held on March 17. The finals in the men's vault, men's pommel horse, men's horizontal bar, as well as finals in women's balance beam and women's floor exercise will be held on March 18.
