The fighters of the mixed aviation division of the 4th Air Force and Air Defense Army deployed in Crimea conducted flights to the unfamiliar airfields in the Rostov region and the Krasnodar Territory within the framework of the tactical flight drills.
"The pilots on the latest Su-30SM and Su-27SM3 fighter aircrafts worked through takeoff in pairs, protection the forces from the air and flights to intercept the air target," said Colonel Vadim Astafyev, the chief of the Southern Military District press service. ”The light weapons, SAB-250 light aircraft bombs burning in the air for up to 4.5 minutes, were used as a conventional adversary," Interfax quotes him as saying.
