SOCAR is to participate in the construction of gas storage facilities in Georgia, SOCAR head Mahir Mammadov said after talks with the Georgian leadership.
It is planned that the construction of the storage is to begin in 2016. It will be able to receive 230-250 million cubic meters of natural gas, which is about 15% of the annual consumption of Georgia.
"SOCAR is interested in participating in this project. I think that the project is very important for our country,'' Trend cites Georgian Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze as saying.
