Ukrainian prosecutors have thanked the governor of Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, for providing information on corruption schemes at the Kiev customs service.
"The governor of the Odessa region has been summoned for questioning to provide information he knows about corruption-related violations by the staff at the customs service," the press service of the supervisory authority said.
On January 15, Saakashvili and the head of the Odessa customs service, Yulia Marushevskaya, broke into a warehouse owned by the so-called "nut mafia" and returned the cargo confiscated by the law enforcers to the owner, TASS recalls.
