Sargsyan meets with China’s Executive Vice Premier of State Council

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with China’s Executive Vice Premier of the State Council, Zhang Gaoli, yesterday in Yerevan.

Armenia could play a definite role in the promotion of trade between the Eurasian Economic Union and China, Zhang Gaoli noted.

"China attaches significance to cooperation with the EEU in trade and Armenia as a member-state of the EEU can contribute to the promulgation of talks in that sphere," China’s Executive Vice Premier of the State Council said.

Sargsyan pointed out that China is an important international partner for Armenia. According to him, the consistent development of centuries-old Armenian-Chinese relations is among the priorities of this country’s foreign policy.

He stressed the fair pace of Armenian-Chinese economic cooperation "in recent years in spite of external economic shocks".

"Joint projects in the manufacturing and power engineering sectors, agriculture, research, technologies, and culture impart a big impulse for taking bilateral relations to a quality new level," TASS cited Sargsyan as saying.
