The second day of the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup started in Baku at the National Gymnastics Arena.
Men’s vault and female balance beam qualification event started today at 11:00 am (Moscow time). Men’s balance beam and horizontal bar qualification events will be held at 14:00 pm (Moscow time).
Yesterday, the women's qualifications were held in the vault and uneven bars exercises and in men's qualifications in the rings and parallel bars exercises.

Azerbaijani gymnast Marina Nekrasova advanced to the vault finals among women, ranking third with 13.733 points. The best in the qualification was Oksana Chusovitina from Uzbekistan (14.383 points), the second place was taken by Emily Little from Australia (14,033 points). Another Azerbaijani gymnast Maria Smirnova ranked tenth with 12.717 points and is the second reservist.
Diana Varinskaya from Ukraine showed the best result in the uneven bars exercises, scoring 13.366 points. Wang Yan (China) ranked second with 13.1 points, Georgia-Rose Brown (Australia) with 13 points ranked third. Yulia Inshina (ranked sixth with 11.866 points) and Ekaterina Tishkova (ranked eighth with 11.4 points) also qualified to the finals.
Eleftherios Petrounias (Greece) showed the best result among men in the rings qualifying competitions with 15.333 points. Kazuyuki Takeda (Japan) ranked second with 14.833 points, Konstantinos Konstantinidis (Greece) ranked third with 14.733 points. Azerbaijani gymnast Bense Talas ranked tenth scoring 13,066 points.
The first three places in the qualifications in the parallel bars exercises were occupied by Asian athletes: Ronbin Liu (China) showed the best result with 15,066 points, Yushao He (China) ranked second with 14.6 points, Kazuyuki Takeda (Japan) ranked third with 14,433 points. Murad Agarzayev (Azerbaijan, 13,433 points), Alain Dimich (Slovenia, 14,1 points), Thomas Kuzmickas (Lithuania, 13,766 points), Yevgeny Yudenkov (Ukraine, 13,733 points) and Sogo Nomura (Japan, 13,466 points) will also participate in the parallel bars finals.
