Serbian MPs to visit Crimea

A delegation of members of the Serbian parliament including the leader of the Democratic Party, Sanda Raskovic-Ivic, will arrive in Crimea today. They will meet with fellow deputies of the Crimean regional legislature, the Russian President's plenipotentiary representative to the Crimean Federal District, Oleg Belaventsev, the Crimean Prime Minister, Sergei Aksyonov, and the chairman of the State Council, Vladimir Konstantinov.

Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea Georgy Muradov said that during the visit the Serbian politicians would have an opportunity to assess the political, economic, and inter-ethnic situation in Crimea.

"I'm sure they'll relate the truth to the people of Serbia, to Serbian society," TASS cited him as saying.

Deputies of the French National Assembly visited Crimea this summer. Italy's former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has also made an unofficial trip to the peninsular region.
