The unsettled lives of the citizens of Caucasus cause conflicts in the region, the Director of the State Archive, the head of the historical faculty of MSU the department of Russian history of the 19th and 20st centuries of the History Faculty of MSU, Sergei Mironenko, said in an interview with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza on the sidelines of the official opening of the Annual ‘Valdai’ Meeting in Sochi.
"If we talk about the conflict in Caucasus, it is too early to talk that it has exhausted itself," he complained.
To prevent such a scenario, it is necessary to solve the problems of the inhabitants of Caucasus. "I think it is necessary for people to live well. A man should have a job, a decent life, normal proceedings, there shouldn't be any bureaucratic abuse or corruption," Mironenko noted.
Director of the State Archive also told how the cooperation between Russian archivists and their colleagues from the republics of the South Caucasus is developing. "Three countries, three issues. Different relations with different countries. For example, I have friends in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. For the past four or five years Armenia was the chairman of the Evrazika department, which also includes Azerbaijan. Unfortunately, I don't know about Georgia. By the way, in recent years, unfortunately, our relationship with our Georgian colleagues are not intense as before," Sergei Mironenko summed up.
