The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov commented on the court's refusal to let Ukrainian doctors visit Nadezhda Savchenko. The Foreign Minister noted that Savchenko's insolent behavior in the court made a doctors' visit impossible.
Sergei Lavrov said that on the morning of March 9 he had a telephone conversation with the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pavel Klimkin, who raised the question of a visit by Ukrainian doctors to Savchenko for a medical examination. Lavrov pointed out that the Russian side had taken steps to grant a petition on a doctors’ visit, proceeding from principles of humanism.
"However, Savchenko's insolent conduct during the hearing and her abusive remarks towards the court have changed the situation, making such a visit impossible," the Russian minister said.
"Savchenko feels well and does exercise, being under constant supervision of Russian doctors," RBC cited the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying.
