The official organ of the Ministry of Culture & Tourism of Azerbaijan has compared the prices in the Baku and Tbilisi hotels on the basis of the information of online booking website booking.com, abc.az reports.
The Ministry reports that the price comparison was conducted on 2-5 star hotels on booking in May, June, July and August of 2016 for double standard seats and for three nights.
"According to the comparison, the prices in the 2, 4 and 5 star Baku hotels are lower than in hotels of Tbilisi. For example, the average price of a standard double room in a 2 star hotel in Baku is $70-$90 and in Tbilisi - $95-$245. The price of a standard double room in a 4 star hotel in Baku is $64-$401 and 5-star - $191-$926, while in Tbilisi $218-$728 and $752-$1,253 respectively," the Ministry said.
According to the conducted study, the average prices in 2-star hotels of Baku are below the prices in hotels of Tbilisi by 35%, in 4 star hotels by 44%, and 5-star hotels by 59%.
