Today, the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol adopted a decision on the resignation of the speaker of the city's parliament, Alexey Chaly, by a majority vote, satisfying his request.
19 deputies out of 22 present at the meeting supported the resignation (in total, there are 24 parliamentarians in the Legislative Assembly). The authority of Chaly was terminated prematurely, but he still has the status of deputy of the Legislative Assembly.
Vice-speaker Ekaterina Altabaeva became acting chairwoman of the authority. She will lead the Legislative Assembly until the election of its new head, Interfax reports.
