Early this morning a shootout occurred on the border between Azerbaijan and Iran, as a result of which two people died.
The State Border Service of Azerbaijan reported that at 04:10, during an illegal border crossing, a group of 8-10 people was spotted. The violators of the border did not stop, despite calls from border guards, and after warning shots they opened fire at the defenders of the border.
During the shooting five people were injured. Doctors who arrived at the scene could not save the two perpetrators.
It later became known that the perpetrators were citizens of Bangladesh and their guides, who were armed, Trend reports.
