A small mistake, made yesterday by the Azerbaijani group team in the exercise with five hoops at FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku, today allowed the team to gather and perform flawlessly, the representative of the team, Siyana Vasileva, told to a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, commenting on the results of the qualification exercises with three balls and two rods.
"Today we did everything that was expected of us. Yesterday, there was one small mistake that we could even get around: the object was flying wrong, and it could be fixed, and now we are very satisfied with ourselves and our performance with balls and skipping rods. We were supported by the coaches, and the audience is always pleasant, " she noted.
”Exactly that mistake helped us to perform well today, because we can not make mistakes at home. We performed at two starts before, eight times we showed the program without mistakes, it was our 9th performance, and because of the tension we performed a little worse, but thanks to this loss, we gathered and did everything that was necessary, as we wanted to please our audience, " Siyana Vasileva explained.
The FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup is held in Baku on Apr 28-30. 94 gymnasts from 21 countries will participate in it. 37 sportsmen will perform in the individual program, and 57 gymnasts within 10 teams will take part in group exercises. Athletes will compete for 8 medal sets.
