Statement of the Russian Society of Political Scientists in solidarity with the government and citizens of France in connection with the terrorist attacks on November 13th 2015
The public organization the Russian Society of Political Scientists expresses its strong protest against the cynical terrorist attack in Paris. We express our sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the terrible terrorist attacks and call on politicians, public figures and scientists of all countries to form a common space of shared struggle against terrorism.
What happened in Paris on this ‘black Friday’ testifies clearly the extreme vulnerability of the existing social, administrative and legal regimes to ensure the security of citizens and the limitation of the efforts being made by states to address this problem. Today the leaders of states and governments need to reflect on the implementation of effective joint action to prevent terrorist threats and to realize all the possibilities for strengthening security in Europe and worldwide.
Any external illegitimate interference in the internal affairs of countries in order to violently change political regimes, destabilizing international relations and levelling the role of the UN are unacceptable.
In today's world, any support for terrorist groups and organizations should be considered as a crime against humanity. It is extremely important to gain an understanding of the causes of deadlock due to the acute social and economic crisis in Europe caused by the mass migration from those regions and states that have been exposed to the use of force and forced transformation of political regimes.
The Russian Society of Political Scientists encourages all professionals in the field of social sciences and humanities to join their efforts in the preparation of a common international program of multilateral joint action in the fight against terrorism for national governments and international organizations.
