The Stavropol delegation one of the first subjects of the Russian Federation brought the Holy Fire from Jerusalem. It was brought to the Stavropol airport by the charter flight, the plane landed at approximately 20:30 Moscow time.
The delegation was headed by the Federation Council members, Mikhail Afanasov and the secretary of the Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk diocese, Archpriest Alexander Gomzyak.
"With God's help, we managed to deliver very quickly the Holy Fire to our homeland, to Stavropol, which means that in the next few hours it will be delivered all over the region, in all parishes, get into every temple, every house," TASS quotes him as saying.
