Today the inter-regional forum of the Russian People's Front opened in Stavropol, its main theme will be monitoring of the implementation of presidential decrees, as well as the fight against wastefulness and corruption in public procurement.
According to the organizers, the forum will be attended by more than 600 people – civic society activists from the southern regions of the country, federal and regional experts of the Russian People's Front, journalists and representatives of the legislature will be among them. In addition, the event will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of the North Caucasus, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Construction and Housing, as well as the Federal Antimonopoly Service, the Chamber of Accounts, the Agency for Nationalities and others.
It is planned to hold a total of four regional forums of the Russian People's Front in different regions of Russia.
The co-chairman of the Central Staff of the Russian People's Front, Alexander Brechalov, said a key theme of the current year is the implementation of the decrees of the president, adding that the focus of the forum will be devoted to the fight against wastefulness in public procurement.
"We intend to demonstrate the effectiveness of the project 'For fair procurement' to the state, government and regions to ensure the efficiency of public spending," Brechalov noted.
The forum will be held in the Stavropol State Agrarian University. The first day of discussions will cover five traditional thematic areas: 'Society and authority: a direct dialogue', 'Education and culture as a basis of national identity', 'Quality of everyday life', 'A fair and efficient economy' and 'Social justice' .
The press service of the Russian People's Front said that the participants of the event will focus on the problems of the struggle against corruption, the development of public institutions and the availability of pre-school, secondary and higher education, problems in the housing sector, road infrastructure, the development of domestic tourism and the healthcare sector.
The second day of the forum will summarize the results of the discussions presented at the plenary session, together with concrete proposals to address them.
