NATO’s four battlegroups in the Baltics and Poland are now fully operational, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.
"NATO’s four multinational battlegroups in the Baltic countries and Poland are now fully operational, a clear demonstration that our alliance stands united in the face of any possible aggression," Sputnik cited Stoltenberg as saying.
He stressed that the US military presence in Europe increased from two to three brigades.
Stoltenberg added that European NATO members and Canada are set to increase their annual defense spending by 4.3% this year.
