A previously unknown megalithic complex, which may be a defensive structure of the Stone Age, has been found in eastern Turkey, the Anatolia news agency reports with reference to Professor of History Rafet Cavusoglu at the Yüzüncü yil university.
The unusual structure was found in the north-east of the country near Lake Van and the Iranian border. A pile of stones look like ruins of a fortress. It is located at the top of a hill at an altitude of about 2000 meters above sea level near the village of Yücel, Tass reports.
