Azerbaijani female swimmer Maryam Sheykhalizadekhangah has reached the semifinals of the 50 m freestyle competitions, having scored 26.72 seconds, as part of the XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku.
Serbian athlete Nina Stanisavljevic was the first to reach the finish line with 25.64 seconds.
The semi-finals and finals of the freestyle competitions among women will be held during the evening session at 16:00 and 17:41 Moscow time respectively.
The XV Summer European Youth Olympic Festival is being held in Baku on July 21-27. The festival will be attended by more than 3,900 athletes from 48 European countries. Athletes will compete in ten kinds of sports - gymnastics, athletics, basketball, cycling, handball, judo, swimming, tennis, volleyball and wrestling. In total, athletes will compete for 135 sets of medals.
