In Russia, the swimming season ended in Ivanovo, Yaroslavl, Pskov, Novgorod, Leningrad regions, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand said.
He also noted that the swimming season is over in St. Petersburg and Moscow. "There are no conditions for the water temperature to warm up again," TASS quotes meteorologist as saying.
At the same time, Vilfand clarified that the end of the swimming season, first of all, means a decrease of the water temperature to an uncomfortable level for children to swim.
