Swiss aren't rushing into European Union

According to the results of a survey released by the Schweiz am Sonntag newspaper, the numerous challenges that the countries of the European Union are facing today discourage the citizens of Switzerland from participating in this integration project.

According to the poll, 85.8% of respondents are against joining the EU. Further,  more than a third of the respondents expressed confidence that the EU will soon split.

In this regard, it is noted that the respondents formed a rather ‘negative image of their European neighbor.’

The survey involved 1002 residents of the Confederacy. However, they were both Swiss citizens and foreigners, Tass reports.
