The ceremony to mark the beginning of construction of the Trans Adriatic Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) will be held in Thessaloniki on May 17.
The ceremony will be attended by prominent politicians and companies, as this is an important project which will allow creation of many jobs, abc.az cited the Energy and Environment Minister of Greece, Panos Skourletis, as saying.
The TAP is one of the links of the Southern Gas Corridor project for the supply of gas from the Caspian field Shah Deniz to Europe through Turkey. Its initial capacity is 10 billion cu m of gas per year with the possibility of doubling.
The first delivery of Azerbaijani gas is scheduled for early 2020.
