Supreme Mufti of Russia, Talgat Tajuddin, announced today that he was ready to transfer his powers to the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan, Kamil Samigullin.
''I signed the decree personally on the transfer of powers to the Supreme Mufti of Russia, Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Samigullin, as well as the post of chairman of the Central Spiritual Board of Muslims of Russia (TsDUM) to my son Muhammad Tadzhuddinov. The presidium and the Enlarged Plenum TsDUM approved the decree,'' Tass cites him as saying.
Thus, Talgat Tajuddin will retain the position of Sheikh-ul-Islam and general manager of the RF TsDUM.
