Tashkent mosque to be named after Islam Karimov

One of the oldest mosques in Uzbekistan’s capital will be named after late President Islam Karimov.

"Due to the proposal by the Council of Religious Scholars and the society, it has been decided to name the mosque as the Mosque of Islam-Ata in the memory of Uzbekistan's first president, my father, Islam Karimov," Karimov's daughter, Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva wrote on her Facebook page.
