The European Association of Historic Spas (EHTTA) has sent its experts to Azerbaijan to assess the country’s potential.
The Ministry of Culture & Tourism of Azerbaijan informs that on July 22-29 Michel Thomas Pinet and Ahmet Hikmet Shakhin studied the possibility of the country’s participation in EHTTA’s project 'Thermal Routes'.
"We assessed the thermal sanatoriums od Istisu in Masalli, Yengicə in Gabala and Qalaaltı in Shabran, which generally conform to European standards, although they have their own specifics. The Culture & Tourism Ministry wants to expand the sanatoriums’ capabilities due to their joining the Association, and for that purpose we’ll prepare and present a certificate and submit it to the EHTTA Technical Committee. Only after that will the registration of membership begin," Pinet said following the visit, abc.az reports.
