Türkiye has been elected as a member of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee in 2023-2027, Turkish culture and tourism minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said.
Announcing the development he said Türkiye became a member of the committee with "the vote held at the 24th General Assembly of States Parties session" held in Paris.
During its 4-year membership, Türkiye will have a say in the decision-making process for the World Heritage list at the meetings of the World Heritage Committee, the minister added.
