The Turkish government called on Israel to stop the provocations on the territory of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said.
"Any attempt at breach and occupation at the Al-Aqsa Mosque is playing with fire. Preventing the entry of the Muslims to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Israeli soldiers caused injury to dozens of people," TASS cited the presidential spokesman as saying.
"The Israeli government wants to divide up certain sections of the Al-Aqsa Mosque to legitimize the trespass of extremist Jewish settlers there," he added.
