Ankara hopes that the German Government does not agree how the Bundestag assessed the tragic events of 1915 in the Ottoman Empire, describing the event as ‘the Armenian genocide’, a spokesman for Turkish President Ibrahim Kalyn stated.
"We do not recognize the decision by the German parliament, which is an example of political irresponsibility. We have seen how some members were in ignorance, which was far from history. This decision is a bad message to the three million Turks living in Germany. We will continue to demonstrate the necessary reactions and take the necessary measures. We think that the German government will distance itself from the Parliament’s decision,’’ RIA Novosti cites him as saying.
