Turkey has taken command of the Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 2 (SNMCMG-2) from Italy. The ceremony of delegation of power took place in the district of Erdek in Balikesir Province in western Turkey.
A Colonel of the Turkish Navy, Ramadan Kesgin, was appointed the Commander of SNMCMG-2 for one year. Turkish minesweeper Enez and warships from Germany, Spain, Romania and Greece will also participate, RIA Novosti reports.
